The Commission on Disarmament
The United Nations Commission on Disarmament reports to the General Assembly. The Disarmament Commission was created as a deliberative body, to consider and make recommendations on various problems in the field of disarmament and to follow up on the relevant decisions and recommendations of the special session. It meets for three weeks in the spring. It has been deadlocked for a number of years, but earlier it had provided new initiatives in disarmament, both conventional and nuclear.
